With funds from a generous bequest by the late Professor Radha Govind
Laha, IMS has established the Laha Awards for travel to the next IMS Annual Meeting in Barcelona.
Purpose:
To fund travel to present a paper at the next IMS Annual Meeting in Barcelona.
Eligibility:
First priority to students, second priority to New
Researchers within 2 years of Ph.D. degree at the date of the
meeting. Applicants must be members of IMS, though joining at the time of
application is allowed.
Student membership is free (well, almost - see Student Membership for details) and New researchers also qualify for substantially reduced rates. To become a member, please see Membership Applications.
Amount:
Up to U.S. $500 per award, to be reimbursed against receipts. May be combined with other sources of funding.

Applications will be reviewed by the IMS Executive Committee, and applicants
will be notified in early March. It is expected that at least 8 awards
will be made. The work must be that of the student (or new researcher),
although it may be have been done in collaboration with an advisor or
others.
